Fund Management

In the current rapidly evolving landscape, robust infrastructure is vital for sustainable economic growth. The journey of infrastructure development, from concept to completion, requires significant financial resources and effective oversight to navigate the unique challenges associated with such projects, including funding gaps, risk assessment, and efficient resource allocation. At iDeCK, we provide strategic funding and expert management services that are essential for bridging these gaps.

As the fund managers of the Project Development Fund (PDF) and the Project Investment Fund (PIF), both established by the Government of Karnataka, we foster innovative, high-impact projects that contribute to the state’s growth and enhance the quality of life for its residents. These funds address funding challenges and offer financial support to infrastructure projects. By utilising them, we ensure the smooth progress and successful completion of projects that are both economically viable and socially impactful.

Project Investment Fund

The Project Investment Fund (PIF) plays a pivotal role in financing the initial stages of infrastructure project implementation, providing the necessary seed-capital, either as debt or equity.

Objectives of the PIF:

Private Investment: Encouraging private sector participation to complement public funding, thereby increasing the overall financial viability of projects.

Risk Mitigation Strategies: Implementing measures to identify and manage risks effectively, enhancing project stability and investor confidence.

Key Projects:

Sandur Bypass: Funded the first state roll road in Karnataka, showcasing innovative infrastructure development.

Hassan-Mangalore Rail Line: Supported this crucial connectivity project, enhancing regional transport and trade.

Bangalore International Airport: Provided seed capital to help establish one of India’s leading international airports.

Narayanapur Hydel Plant: Contributed to sustainable energy solutions through this mini hydel plant initiative.

Project Development Fund

The Project Development Fund (PDF) is designed to support the conceptual phases of infrastructure projects, transforming innovative ideas and project concepts into actionable plans or shovel-ready projects.

Objectives of the PDF:

Feasibility Studies: Funding comprehensive analyses to evaluate the viability and potential impact of proposed projects.

Project Preparatory Activities: Carrying out technical surveys (geotechnical studies, traffic studies, etc.), land surveys, detailed designs, preparation of BOQs, etc., which are crucial to accurately estimate the technical feasibility of projects.

Pre-Implementation Clearances: Obtaining clearances, utility shifting, and other pre-implementation regulatory requirements, to ensure projects are fully prepared for implementation.

Legal Documentation and Process Management: Preparing legal documentation (including formulation of necessary policy frameworks, etc.) for transparent project bid transactions and process hand-holding.

Capacity Building: Enhancing the skills and expertise of stakeholders involved in project development, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.

Key Projects:

Scientific Landfill Development: Successfully carried out all project preparation activities and bid out the development of the country’s first scientific landfill on PPP basis to be set up in Bengaluru.

Tolled Road: Incubated and successfully bid out the development of the state’s first tolled road project on a PPP basis.

Specialised Infrastructure Studies: Funded comprehensive studies such as the Karnataka State Infrastructure Plan, guiding strategic investments in the region.

Perspective Map for Karnataka: Supported the preparation of a GIS-based state infrastructure perspective map.
